Zen in Idaho

White Cloud Zen Center is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting zen practice of those who live in Idaho. It is headed by Rein Konpo Kaales, dharma and lineage holder of the White Plum. This lineage encompasses both the Soto and Rinzai traditions of zen.

The Center has two physical locations. One is in Pocatello's historic university district just two blocks away from Idaho State University. The second location is in the North End of Boise just behind the Capital building.

Training is available for lay practitioners as well as those interested in residential study in a 24/7 environment.

In addition to traditional retreats White Cloud  Zen Center offers to senior students several outdoor and wilderness retreats where zen is practiced in a unique blend of eastern and western style that is sometimes called Cowboy Zen.
